Residing in a peaceful area near Garvão village, Alentejo, nearing the Mira River and the Atlantic Ocean West Coast beaches with its picturesque seaside shoreline Villages, lies Monte Flora, a back-to-the-land farm stay. The Farmhouse’s unique location grants seclusion in a richness of natural scenery and yet allows a wide variety of outdoor experiences and activities all year round, like horseback riding, biking, hiking and fascinating cultural and culinary tours in nearby mediaeval villages.

Nature as the Ultimate Guide: We believe that the best designs come from the wisdom of nature itself. From careful observation and analysis of the natural systems that surround us, we apply these insights to the entire spectrum of our work.

Balancing Act: Our landscape designs and infrastructure plans are meticulously crafted to maintain the balance between ecological preservation and economic viability. Our ultimate goal is to ensure productive living and achieve food self-sufficiency.

Enhancing Biodiversity: One of our primary objectives is to boost soil, fauna, and flora diversity while reducing waste. Our strategy includes feeding the soil with bio-fertilizers and a thoughtful selection of plant species, while following a well-studied zoning, planting, and pruning strategy to optimise plant growth and yield.

Energy-Efficiency: At the heart of our mission is a commitment to maximise energy efficiency and biodiversity, and minimise ecological impact. We have carefully selected energy-efficient and environmentally friendly technologies in all our endeavours, with special attention being given to water dynamics and quality in an area with water scarcity.

Stillness
A 4.5 sqm green roof octagon that echoes the surrounding eucalyptus, cork and olive tree leaves. Perfectly secluded and tranquil for meditation, sound healing and one-on-one treatments.

Center
An 8 sqm green roof octagon designed and positioned with special attention to the effects of sacred geometry on a play of sound, light and air dynamics.

Flow
Stunning 54 sqm wooden octagon overlooking the natural pond and offering a panoramic view of the typical Alentegean scapes. This piece is the perfect spot for group workshops and social events.

Water
Designed to blend harmoniously with its natural surroundings, providing an inviting place to cleanse and recharge while creating a habitat for a thriving ecosystem that maintains water balance naturally.
Our biological pond waters are purified through a natural purification system combining biological techniques of carefully selected aquatic plants and mechanical water oxygenation pumping system.

The Gathering
Our circular fire pit seating area provides a communal gathering space with a tribal ambience, where guests can come together and explore the unity in diversity.

An immersive opportunity to deepen one's understanding of spiritual wisdom through exploration of indigenous traditions and practices.
